Manages the field operations of a project through final completion and closeout

The Superintendent manages the field operations of a project through final completion and closeout. They ensure that all subcontracted and self-performed trade work is in compliance with contract documents and the project schedule. They implement and enforce the safety and quality control among employees and subcontractors while maintaining the core values of Ashton on the job site.

The Superintendent performs the following activities:

  • Oversee the progression of work and overall management of quality and compliance with the construction documents.
  • Maintain the schedule for all critical path trades, materials, and equipment
  • Maintain regular and clear communication with vendors, subcontractors, key suppliers, and project managers to ensure timely completion and overall execution of work
  • Participate in regular meetings with project teams to provide support, guidance, and evaluate risk
  • Participate in pre-construction and other project acquisition activities as requested
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all divisions and phases of construction work
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all applicable codes, regulations, and compliance requirements associated with all agencies governing the project
  • Optimize field crews to maximize productivity in the most cost effective manner
  • Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure compliance with company and government standards
  • Assist in the resolution of scope conflicts
  • Strengthen jobsite culture according to Ashton’s core values
