The Preconstruction Manager is responsible for assisting with the delivery of estimates and proposals for potential projects. The Preconstruction Manager is charged with providing support to the Sales Team by preparing a thorough and professional proposal and suggesting value engineering opportunities to benefit the project. The Preconstruction Manager is instrumental during the handoff phase after a project is awarded, and will offer recommendations to the PM during the buyout phase.
Key activities include:
- Scope the work required, manage the bid process, and issue bidding invitations to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Generate quantity takeoffs and prepare construction bid-budgets for potential projects
- Analyze subcontractor and vendor pricing for completeness and adherence to proposal requirements
- Assemble proposals and bid qualifications for prospective projects
- Identify and quantify value engineering opportunities to present to our Client.
- Assist during the handoff meeting from precon to construction phases for projects that have been awarded.
- Generate initial draft of buyout log after a project has been awarded
- Recommend and assist during project buy-out and helping to write scope documents for subcontracts
